Mrs. Gutierrez is originally from Argentina and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires. She received a master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a second language from the University of Barcelona in Spain. Since 2021, Mrs. Gutierrez has been the middle-school and high-school Spanish teacher at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville. Mrs. Gutierrez has been a long-term substitute Spanish teacher in MCPS middle schools and high schools for several years. Mrs. Gutierrez said she looks forward to working at St. John the Baptist where there’s alignment with her commitment to social justice, inclusivity, and community.
